Through our networking over the past many months we have interest from over 100 people in joining ACIMA and interest over two dozen in being part of the leadership – all from throughout Atlantic Canada’s four provinces. Chapters are being set-up in several cities for the launch.
Establishing a chapter in your city, town, or region is not difficult. And it’s a great opportunity for networking and puts you in the center of the industry for your region. Enthusiasm and a willingness to share it is the core requirement!
We have found the interest is strong in being a part of it, due in large part to the high importance of learning and education in our industry, and the high value of networking to find partners, vendors, and clients.
The core activity of each chapter will be to coordinate local member events – we want to keep things simple; networking events will be the main Chapter activity, with special talks and workshops also part of the mix depending on the regional goals, network, interest, etc.
We will support the chapter from Halifax. We have a designated person in our group to do this. Through the website we will announce events for your chapter, and help coordinate meetings etc. with you.
Each city or region will have a minimum of
- Chapter President – overall leadership, planning, networking
- Membership Coordinator – membership drives, registration
- Event Coordinator – arranging of events, facilities, event promotion
Other possible roles are communications and sponsorship though we can partly support these centrally through the website and our network. We can also help to bring in interesting speakers or set-up workshops etc. if the interest is there.
